Just last week, I realized something about my mindset when it came to my business. It was hindering me. Something wasn’t right. I couldn’t seem to take action. I was learning. I was looking up all I could about real estate investing. As a matter of fact, I was so motivated that I had some other Ventures in mind, also. I was definitely impressed with myself and thought for sure I was on the right path. I only ended up confused and kind of lost. I had so much going on that I didn’t know which way I was going, what to do next, or how I was going to get there.
Then I heard a quote. I can’t remember who said it so I’ll summarize. They said to pick something and give it all you’ve got. It dawned on me that the reason I was confused was because I was doing too much at the same time. I was trying to learn ALL of real estate investing, get a small cleaning service started for extra money, and sell some software that my mentor had as an opportunity for me. All of these are great but I realized that I couldn’t chase all of them at the same time.
That said, my advice to you, if I don’t say anything else tonight, is to find your passion. What’s your biggest goal? What makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? That right there is what you should be giving 100% to.
As a side note:
Learn to say “no”. Opportunities are awesome and recognize them when they come but you have to realize which ones are for you and which ones are not. I don’t really even like cleaning. And I can’t stand phone sales. I was so focused on money that I lost sight of my passion. Don’t lose your passion!
