It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on my progress. I’m truly sorry for that! I’ve been really focused but I want to update regularly because the things that I’m going through can really help my readers pull through the same things. If you want more of an update, please check out my YouTube channel! So I went on a very low carb diet. For a few weeks I didn’t eat bread, pasta, simple sugars, or potatoes. I stuck with protein and fat. The only carbs I got were in fruits and vegetables. It’s not eliminating carbs in particular that caused me to lose weight. Let me get that straight because there’s a lot of mis-information surrounding that. Of the 3 macros (Carbs, Protein, and Fat), Protein is the most satiating. Since I cut out carbs and increased the protein, I felt more full and ended up eating less. That’s where the deficit came in to lose weight. I chose that specific type of carbs because I wanted to keep the protein high so that I could support my lean body mass while losing fat.
My body felt really good. My bowels were regular and I dropped 4 lbs in a week or two. I did a re-feed so that my body didn’t get used to not having carbs and I’ve actually been maintaining since then. I haven’t gained that 4 lbs back so that’s good. I plan on going back on it starting next week.
Here I’m going to post more articles. If you want to check out my videos, visit my YouTube Channel Here!
We are 100% responsible for our own emotions. People play a part in what they do towards us but it’s up to us to decide what we’re going to do and how we’re going to feel as a result.
For example, if someone walks up to you and tells you that you’re the dumbest person that they’ve ever known. How would that make you feel? Now if that person goes up to someone else and says the same thing, that other person may feel and respond in totally different manner than you.
So who’s responsible for how you felt about it? You decide whether you’re going to get mad and punch that person in the face and ruminate over it the rest of the day. Or you could decide that yes, that was rude and uncalled for but you also know that it’s more of a reflection on THEM, not you. That lets you shrug it off, and move on with your day in total confidence that you re, in fact, pretty darn smart. The action is the constant but the reaction is the variable.
So next time you go to blame your emotions on someone else, remember that they may be totally out of the line but they’re not telling you how to feel. That’s YOUR choice and yes, you’re in total control! No one said it was easy and, of course, some offenses are worse than others but this still remains true. There are people who have had family members murdered that found the strength not to retaliate but to forgive. Does that mean that they love their lost loved one any less? No, it means that they didn’t let the offender’s actions take over and ruin them as a person. This takes strength, but it’s possible.
Are you a DOER or a DREAMER?
I was talking with someone this morning about the importance of action. He’s a very smart person who’s headed towards huge things. He loves to learn and soaks up the things he taught.
It is not enough to just store what you learn in your mind and never use it. Intelligence is being able to learn and apply what you’ve learned to your life! A mind full of unapplied wisdom doesn’t do you or anyone else any good. We have to learn to seek knowledge and wisdom and then take MASSIVE ACTION on that knowledge.
All of us have dreams. We sit back and we imagine a life where we don’t have to worry about how to pay the bills, live in a big house, and have tons of money and freedom. That’s all great and it’s actually a MUST if you’re going to achieve your goals. First, you have to imagine and believe it’s possible. But are you just dreaming? What are you doing daily to reach those goals and make your dreams a reality?
The Internet is FULL of information and I can guarantee you that if you look hard enough, you can find the exact steps necessary to accomplish anything that you want to accomplish! But what will you do with that information? Are you someone who just likes to learn and collect info or are you actually going to make your dreams come true?
I’m going to need you guys and gals to do me a favor. This is a big one and it’s going to change your life forever! Once you get the hang of this, you’ll never be the same.
STOP saying the word “JUST” when you talk about yourself! That drives me insane. When someone gives you a compliment or you describe yourself, stop referring to yourself as “just an average girl” or “just an average guy” or whatever you like to follow that up with.
First of all, you’re not JUST anything. You are phenomenal! There’s no one else on the planet like you! You’re here with a certain set of skills and abilities that ONLY YOU have. Did you know that the odds of you being here…of all the things that aligned…your parents…the timing…the sperm/egg combination possibilities…the infinitely complex process of your in-womb formation…the fact that you made it through that and birth….the odds are 1 in 4 hundred trillion!!!
Please don’t say you’re “just” a _______ again. Be known and bless the world with what you have to offer.
Where are you with yourself? Those who are familiar with the M in The Movement know that it stands for mentality. Mentality is the very first step towards being successful in anything that you do. Part of having the right mentality is realizing what you’re capable of.
What you think of yourself and your ability is of utmost importance to your future. This is where you need to be totally honest. Take a look deep inside and examine the truth that lays there. Do you truly believe that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to accomplish? Why do you place limitations on yourself?
Success isn’t out there for just a few select people.
“We’re all born the same…naked and dumb” -Unknown.
What happens is that some people grab life by the horns and embrace their purpose. Most go through life doubting that they even have a purpose at all. We all have the ability to change lives both for ourselves and for other people. The question is, how far do you want to go?

I was taking a walk and I started thinking about the value of self care.
So many of us are thinking about all of the other important things in our lives. Career, business, family, home…all of these things are very important to keep up on so they tend to take up most of our time. Sure, we hear about exercise and eating right all the time but for some of us it seems like a dream. “Maybe one day when I’m not so busy”, we say. “As long as the kids are taken care of that’s all that matters”, we say other times. I know this for sure because, just like you, these are some of the things I have said to myself. But then I realized that I was making this healthy thing much more difficult than it needed to be.
What we don’t focus on is that taking care of ourselves is the very first step to taking care of everyone and everything else! If you want to look at it that way, since many of us are very selfless, we can’t lead productive lives for ourselves or anyone else if our health is going down the tubes. You don’t need to spend hours at the gym or restrict yourself to a lettuce only diet to make things work. Here are three things that you can start doing today to take those first steps toward a healthier you.
1. Drink more water. Yep, I know…you can stop cringing now. One of the biggest reasons we can’t stand drinking plain water is because we’ve spoiled our taste buds with everything else. It’s almost like our tongues are having tantrums. Get in the habit and I promise after even just a few days this aversion won’t be an issue.
2. Walk. We do this every single day anyway so let’s take it a little bit further. Use things in your daily life and just add a little to it. Park further away from the store or take 15 minutes out of your day to walk a small trail. One thing I’ve started doing at work (mainly because I have a small fear of elevators but that’s a different article hehe) is taking the stairs. I’ve got to get up there anyway so might as well get some exercise in on the way.
3. Homemade juices and smoothies. This one I find really fun because there are so many possibilities. The only thing you need is a food processor and/or a juicer. I have a nutrininja that I use for everything and I paid around $100. for it but there are other models to fit whatever you’re willing to spend. I literally put some spinach or kale at the bottom, a banana, some strawberries, pineapple, whatever you want to put in there…add some water and blend. I use half water and half almond milk but all of this is totally up to you. Note: DO NOT ADD SUGAR. YOU’RE DEFEATING THE PURPOSE. Use naturally sweet fruits.
There you have it. 3 very easy things you can start doing to improve your health. This isn’t the be-all-end-all but it’ll go a great distance towards getting you started.
